What is Excimer Laser?

Excimer Laser is a 193 NM wave produced through the excitation of Argon Fluoride. This laser can reshape corneal tissve with sensitivity that is measured in microns. This method involves no serious surgical risks and can be used to treat myopia, hyperobia and astigmatism in just minutes.

Excimer Laser was first used to treat human eye problems in the USA in 1989. The method has been used in Turkey since 1992 when it was brought to this country by Dr. Sinan Goker, renowned world-wide as a leading refractive surgeon. Because it is both a safe and effective technique, it has rapidly replaced all other methods as a treatment for myopia and its use has quickly spread around the world. The LASIK technique, a further advancement on Excimer Laser(PRK), was first used in Europe in 1990 and it was first utilized in Turkey in 1992 by Dr. Sinan Goker.
